    Structure and Methodology

This Masters programme is designed to prepare practitioners wishing to enter managerial roles within major fashion houses and luxury international brands. The basic teachings help to develop analytical and critical awareness, by integrating and examining knowledge acquired already in the previous educational level, or to standardize the knowledge of participants from other subject areas.

The course provides an early stage based on lectures and a second phase dedicated to workshops with a strong interaction between professors and students, aimed at developing the design process: from the presentation of the concept to the project execution.

The content is divided into three main areas: the history of fashion and applied arts, design and production, marketing and communication strategies.

Participants examine the techniques of the fashion businesses, learn how to organize fashion events and a fashion show, manage a press office, organize and coordinate a showroom. The three practical workshops enable students to examine the main types of fashion products, from the accessories to the dress, and all product related aspects, from creation to production, from retailing to visual merchandising. Particular attention will be dedicated to the theme of ecological and social responsibility.

The course will cover a range of aspects such as communication, product corporate and integration between traditional and web based marketing and communication systems.

This masters programme equips students with cross-disciplinary contributions, seminars held by visiting professors, knowledge of the project territories through visits to areas of production, fashion exhibitions and career days, aimed at meeting companies / practitioners / studies.

Some visiting professors lessons and business case histories of particular importance (Fendi, Valentino, Parmigiani Fleurier) are shared with students of the Master in Luxury Marketing Management.

Students have the opportunity to alternate educational and professional units in order to examine disciplines and be facilitated in the career choices through direct knowledge of the working world. Curricular internship, which lasts two months, takes place in an agency/company or a campus, with a simulation project professional.

The Masters Project is assessed by the launch of a new product or a new collection, which will provide an opportunity for students to highlight the processes and define communication strategies of image and style.
